Cafézia™ Herbal Coffee is the invention of Dr. Tomas Dobransky, a neuroscientist who is passionate about coffee and understands the metabolic pathways of the main active compound in brewed coffee – caffeine.

Dr. Dobransky holds a Ph.D. from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Faculty of Food Chemistry and Biotechnology, Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology in Prague. He has been involved in basic research in the field of cell biology and protein chemistry with focus on the central nervous system since 1987, in laboratories in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Italy, Germany, France, and Canada, publishing 25 original scientific papers and two book chapters. He is presently the scientific director of DB Biotech, Slovakia and scientific consultant for Axon Neuroscience, Austria. He is also on the board of directors at the Faculty of Medicine, University of UPJS-Kosice, Slovakia and visiting professor at the Institute of Neuroimmunology, Slovak Academy of Science.
In addition to his active involvement in the studies of neuronal cell signaling related to multiple sclerosis and neurodegeneration, he is very involved in studies of food composition, nutritional habits and their influence on human metabolism, with a focus on regulation of anabolic pathways.

Dr. Dobransky collaborated closely on a book on nutrition written by Bibiana Wallnerova, titled “Correct Digestion: The Key to Well-Being”, which was published in Slovakia in 2005. The book scientifically conveys the importance of food quality and composition in daily consumption.
